The Kelvin Grove Urban Village is a joint initiative by the Queensland Government and Queensland University of Technology to create a mixed - use development on 16 hectares of land. This $1 billion project consists of housing options, health, educational, recreational and community facilities blended with retail and commercial businesses. During the year ending September 2008, The Village registered 10.8% median unit growth to record a final median price of $442,000, equating to $47000 more than Kelvin Grove’s growth of 4.1%.
There were 20 settled transactions for the six month period ending September 2008, a 49% decrease from the previous six month period. The vast majority of the total transactions occurred in Musk Avenue, the heart of The Village, accounting for 75% of sales.
During the past two years, sale prices have ranged from $294,000 in Musk Avenue to $830,000 in Maidstone Street.
